Confirmation email with Customers Name

Hi,

 

I have tried to figure this out but no joy, and cant seem to find anything about it, when a customer signs up or they get sent an order update i want it to say Dear .....and their name. at the moment it just says Dear Customer.

The section in Bold is the part, i have tried all sorts,
