Guest
Hey, I am starting up a store. I am coming here for some help, bear with me, this is kinda overwhelming. We started an animation website, and as a result will be selling our animation on DVDs. I have used this osCommerce Open Source store here for our store, and I guess a few questions are starting to pop into my head as I am starting this. First, Is there anyway to give the store a more customized feel? I have some custom banners and titles, but how about actually changing the color scheme or the layout? Second, Credit Card transactions... I have a Paypal account for us, but as far as I understand it Paypal only works between Paypal accounts, so I would like to offer a credit card service for people who don't have Paypal, how exactly do I go about doing this? I don't think we can afford 20/30 dollars a month for an SSL Module, what all should I do? Does anyone have any suggestions? Third, Shipping... Does anyone know of any way I can put in a shipping calculator? Anyone know where I can get one for free?
♥Vger
I'll pass on the Shipping Calculator (check 'Contributions'), but PayPal no longer requires the purchaser to have an account. You can do quite a bit with the colour scheme using the stylesheet.css file in the root of your web. Vger
Guest
Ok, but what about actual Credit Card transactions? do I need an SSL module? Is there one that doesn't cost money? (sorry if these things are overly basic, but I have honestly had to pick up this whole thing on my own, I am sorry if I seem stupid)

There are some shipping calculators available in the contribution section, do a search there... user99999999
Ask your bank about credit card processing solutions. Ask your web hosting company about SSL solutions.
