Database Help

Recommended Posts

Ok.....

I have two sites with osCommerce (for the sake of discussion Site A with Database A and Site B with Database cool.gif, with the exact SAME products.

The only difference between the sites will be the price.

So basically I want to take Site A's Database and plug it into site B's database.... that way I can edit the prices on site B and not affect site A.

How do I go about doing something like this? I understand the concept of the database and its fuction conceptually.... but i do not understand how it works, and what I can and cannot do.

I need to get this done ASAP..... so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

You should be able to do this with a little math in the currencies class of one of the sites and just use one database - essentially you would apply a hidden discount to one of the sites.

If you cannot use a flat discount you will need to add a second price column in the database - search our Contributions section for 'discount' to find a number of useful contributions.
