Hi I have several questions any help would be great. I have never used php or any other programming alnguage except a little bit of html.

 

Questions...

1. Do you have to have any programs to use oscommerce?

2. Are there free templates for oscommerce?

3. Can you set it all up online?

4. How many mysql databases do you need? Will 1 do?

5. Is there any oscommecre free no ad hosting?

6. is there any thing you should no for the first time users?

7. Any answers would be great thank you.

 

I am settign up an online toy car store for collectors im gonna use this and if this does not work out I may just have to spend money on Mall23, I rather not untill my busniess is doing well which should be in a year or two. Thanks for all the support

1. A text editer, an ftp program both should be used when editing files.

2. yes check the contributions area

4. 1 database

5. you have to find your own host, if you pay for hosting which you will have to to get php and mysql and be able to use ssl there shouldnt be any advertising

6. lots of stuff, read the forums and the knowledgebase

1 more thing im not any good at text editors drag and drop work? as you can see im not expirenced. Well i nonly want to make a site to help fellow collectors out and i need a free store

You can use anything that will allow you to view the code. Some people use programs like Dreamweaver, others use something as simple as notepad.

 

There are a ton of sites out there where you can download free ftp programs and editers. Just do a search. :)
