aussie53
I have been having trouble configuring my USPS module to work properly www.pacwing.com.au/myonlinestore I have received help from many of you and have found out that my server did not have the current version of osCommerce in their add-on scripts in their cpanel. I spent hours last night changing all the old 2002 files to what I believe are the current 2003 MS2.2 files. After fixing all the script errors I can now get to my home page but there are no images displayed and I can't navigate from there. I have changed my config files. I don't know what to do next. Help please. :'(

aussie53
Upload the install folder for osCommerce 2.2 MS2, and then run the 'upgrade' option, Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Rhea, But I'm a newbie. Where do I upload the install folder from, and to where, and will it automatically give me the "upgrade" option. Your help is greatly appreciated. If this works I hope the Poms win the Ashes. :D
♥Vger
Download the osCommerce 2.2 MS2 zip file from the downloads section of www.oscommerce.com, and in the 'catalog' folder you will find an 'install' folder. You upload this to the root of your domain, and then go to http://www.yourdomain.com/install. If you have your osCommerce installation in a folder e.g. store, then change what I've said in accordance with that. When the install begins you will be given the option of upgrading or making a new installation - and it's obviously the upgrade option you want to use. Remember - before beginning this - BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! - especially your existing database, but backing up the files is also necessary. Folders will need to have permissions of 755 or 777 for this to work. p.s. Couldn't give a tinkers cuss as to what happens to the 'ashes' - Cricket sends me to sleep :D Rhea

Do I use my IP address or my domain hosts IP address? And does every folder in my db have to have the 755 or 777 permissions? Hilton. :'(

♥Vger
You would begin the upgrade by going to http://www.yourdomain.com/install Folder permission of 755 are fine for most sites, but on some servers they may need to be 777. Basically, try 755 and if it doesn't work then use 777. I don't know what you mean by having trouble logging on. Logging on to what? Vger
