quag2000
Hey! Is there a contrib that allows you to use a master store database, and the remotely access this database from other oscommerce sites, but select items based on brand or type, or another field? This would be amazingly handy as I run 3 stores, but only one of them includes a full products list. If the other 2 were linked to the same database, i could maintain the main db and all pricing and description changes would be present in the other stores. I had a search but couldnt seem to find what i was looking for so i thought I'd post for some help looking. Cheers Bill
supirman
I would imagine that this would require custom work, as I have never heard of any such contribution. Hey! Cheers Bill <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There would be a problem as all three websites would need to have updated image files inside the image directory since the database puts the pages together other wise your sites might have broken image file links ( WARNING ) I think I know what Im talking about. ♥akmac
multi-stores contribution might work for you. Quidquid latine dictum sit, profundum viditur.
quag2000
multi-stores contribution might work for you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oooohhhh! Fantastic! That looks very much like what I need! The idea being I also run a database for the wholesaler, and from there the relevant product changes are reflected in the sub-stores. Having to manually mirror images in each local store is no prob, Wise Wombat. I'd be maintaining all the graphics for each independantly. But yes I probably will end up with broken links becuase I'll forget to upload the pics knowing me! Separating the customer details for each store is essential. That I will probably need some help with. It says in the install text that this is do-able but I have little actual coding experience so I'd need to bug some experts! ;) thanks for the link akmac! I will check this out thoroughly.
