rpfray
Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice. My client has various coupons for discounts, and wants to apply them to the shopping cart (which is not online yet but will be very soon). And that's fine. But his idea was to have a separate section (I suppose a bit like a wholesale area) whereby someone who has a coupon, or selected "good" customers, can input a code and access a different area of the cart which has lower prices. I would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion on this. What would be the best way to go? Can it be done? Is it worth it? Are there alternative ways? Etc etc. Anything and everything appreciated...! :D Cheers  Richard

I put this on my site Members Discount My reason for putting this is that when someone makes their first purchase, (I would hope this would be when they sign up), I will send them an E-mail (which I intend to make an autoresponder) that tells them congratulations because Blah, Blah we are pleased to offer you a % discount off your future purchases. So next time they buy something, the % discount is automatically deducted from the purchase price at checkout. There's lots of alternate ways i.e. a ticketing system, a system where they put in a code to obtain their discount etc. For me I like it simple, but if your client is already handing out hardcopy vouchers (I'm wondering how many he can give that would benefit his site!!!!!!) try one of the above just goto the osCommerce contributions and search for what you want there's many, many in there.
