Product identification

Lets suppose situation like this:

 

I have one product(id=1) in my store and that product has 1 option with two values(a,B).

Now when somebody comes in and places an order for that product with option a. I will see as product(id 1)sold with option a. Now, that product either with option a or b has to be made from scratch in lab, so when somebody orders something they get a copy of the order in the lab but i dont want them to get confused or make mistakes when they get an email with order for product with id1 and option a or product with id1 option b. I would like it to have when customer chooses option b the product id is 2 then.

 

I know i could achieve that by making two products without options instead of one product with two options buy maybe there is another way to do that ??
