admin language and cart language issue

Recommended Posts

If i set my default language to german, which i have had issues with, i now found the fix but i had already used .htaccess to specify the default page including the language, which seems to work untill the session runs out.

Anyway the products that are bought while site is in german as i removed the change language option, dont show up when you view admin in english, as i am not german and want the admin to be readable in english what do i do? i would like whatever orders come in to show in the admin when in english but cart language is gonna be different for each site i produce.

if i view the admin in german, i can see the orders, but if i view in english, it shows no orders, any fix for this??

sorry if it sounds confusing

You could have left it with the default setup. If someone from Germany comes to your site they would have seen the German language version by default - as that is the language their browser would be set to - and osCommerce checks for that.

You could check it out on a default setup by just changing your browser default language to German - and you'd then view the German language version of the site.

so am i guessing that as no one seems to have an idea, that

if your shopping cart is in german only you need to be able to speak german or be a good guesser to process anything in the admin?? as it wont show in english

then if i want a french site, i have to learn french too? and spanish? and dutch? and japanese??

:) a little direction would be great, thanks

Hello,

Just go the admin -> Localization -> Languages -> Select "English" -> Click "Edit" -> Select the "Set as default" option
