Database name on plusnet

Hi

I'm failing to get past the test connection on the install script. The error message is:

Access denied for user: 'holistics@%' to database 'holistics_dn'

I am using the same details as when I connect successfully using phpMy Admin, bur the only hostname I've been able to get from Plusnet (ISP) is rumpus.

Do I need an absolute path? If so has anyone got clues as to how I might construct it?

Regards

Usually 'localhost' works - try this  :P

Matti

Thanks, tried it and got different error message.

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

I suppose this might indicate that oscommerce/install is finding rumpus?

Hi

I have been hosted by plusnet,

Rumpus is correct for db hostname,

your username is your account/login name

your password will be different for connecting to mysql,

do not use the login password as this will be incorrect,

you need to use the password that is something like this sixteen digit code-

1bd845ae5f78ccea

If you you no longer have your database user details supplied by PlusNet, you can ask admin to resend you a new password.

hope this helps,

regards

Ian
