milesdavis
I just noticed on our site that when customers try to add items to there cart when they are not logged in, they get the page that says "your cart is empty!". I don't remember this being a problem before. Is this part of Oscommerce and/or is there a contribution to get around it? Really appreciate the help, miles
hubcat
That's not supposed to happen. Looks like you may have induced a new bug. Have you changed something lately? Adrienne
milesdavis
Well, I've had some problems with the host. My https:// pages would keep going down, and they said they fixed it, and it wouldn't happen again. There is a good chance that this problem is directly related to that one, I suppose. Otherwise, I haven't added much recently. What file would likely be the source of this, maybe I can look at the code or goto backups. I can't figure out which .php is responsible for the visitor cart. thanks ! miles
milesdavis
Actually, I think the last thing I added was the 'master password' type of contrib, that altered the login page only. Before that it was the amazon style login, but that was months ago -- and everything I believe worked. could it have to do with session ids? thanks! -miles
hubcat
Actually, I think the last thing I added was the 'master password' type of contrib, that altered the login page only. Well, I'm not very good at trouble shooting, but that could be the source of the problem. I believe this code is controlled by includes/classes/shopping_cart.php, but it could also be something with the "Add to cart" button in your products pages (less likely, but possible). Did you change anything in those files? Good luck, Adrienne
screams
I am having this problem, too. I first noticed it after I had a different problem, namely I made a minor change to product_info.php and now get a server error page every time I try to go to it. (The error persists even after I re-uploaded a clean version of the file.) With mine the cart doesn't start working again even after you *do* login. If I goto the site, click "login" accept the SSL certificate, then don't log in, but goto the product page, add an item - it ALLOWS it too. So, if I accept the SSL and don't log in, it allows me to add products to my cart, to the visitor cart. So, it's all about accepting the secure certificate? does that open any doors for anyone? thanks! miles
