Jos Medinger
Hi there I wonder if it's possible to do the following I have 3 shipping zones using 'Zone Rates' in the Shipipng Module I need these to be based on *price* rather than weight - is this possible? Ideally the scenario goes as follows Zone 1 : <?75 : Shipping ?3.95 >?75 : Shipping ?Free Zone 2 : Shipping ?10 Zone 3 : Shipping ?14 Thanks Jos =============== Simple yet Creative Get Online Web Design : getonlinedesign.com ===============
hubcat
This is definitely possible. You can use the zone module in admin->config->modules->shipping to set up your zones by price. If the free shipping zone is all within your home country, you can then use the free shipping flag in admin->config->modules->order total. Just set it to national only. If free shipping is only in one region, not your entire country, than just make the last entry of zone 1 something like 75:0.00,10000:0.00 - that will set shipping to ?0 for anything betweeen ?75 and ?10,000. You don't get the cool "You get Free Shipping" message if you do it this way, but it still gives free shipping, so it works. I also found this contribution really helpful to distinguish standard zone shipping and overnight zone-based shipping: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1752 Hope that helps, :D Adrienne
Jos Medinger
Thanks for this... Am I right in thinking though that the default OSC installation does not include the facility to set the zone rates dependent upon PRICE rather that weight? In which case I'd need to use a contribution (such as the one you suggested) I couldn't find an option in admin->config->modules->shipping to set the zone rate by price - maybe I'm not running the same version as you? (I'm on 2.2 Milestone 2) It appears though that the contribution you mentioned does allow the zone rate to be amended by price.
