Security - do i need it? Forbidden

Hi, I have a few questions

(1) For my website, i am not planning to ask customers to enter their credit card details. They will just click add to cart... and then check out with the list of items and the email to be sent to me. Do I need to buy a SSL for this?

(2) Now, i have a "Forbidden" error when i go to either login / create account / check out. What should I do here? Read in a thread that I should modify the configure.php to reflect "false" instead of "true" BUT if i do this... there will be another issue. See point (3)

(3) the my website will have a warning sign at the top left corner, highlighting the lack of security.

Not sure if i'm confusing you.. but i'm very confused too as to what i should do. any advise will be greatly appreciated? this is my first time doing this. Thanks!!

Missy,

(1) I still would still use SSL; it will make your customers feel safer when putting their address and such in the registry form.

(2) The forbidden error could be caused by a few reasons such as the permission settings on a file.
