Shipping cost per item cannot calculate correctly

I installed a fresh Oscommer and using default per item shipping modules, but the shipping cost cannot be calculated correctly. When i set the shipping cost to 5.00, and add 1 item in shopping cart, the shipping cost shows 10.00. When i add 2 items in the shopping cart, the shipping cost shows 15.00.... Flat rate works... Please help... thanks....

I tried MZMT Contribution, didn't work too... I set

3.99

 

Geo Zone 1 Shipping Table 1

1:900%

 

then the shipping cost for 1 item is $21.99. it suppose to be $12.99. 2nd item charge $9.00 more as set. why the shipping cost for 1st item cannot be calculate correctly?

 

any inputs are great appreciated.....

Try checking in Admin=> Configuration => Shipping/Packaging

 

If you have the Tare Weight set to $5 it will behave the way you describe. Try setting the Tare to 0

Thanks simon, I changed the Tare weight to 0, but still cannot calculate the 1st item correctly...

I replaced the whole "catalog -> includes -> modules -> shipping" directory, still didn't work well.... adding up wrong. when order 1 item, it charges shipping for 2 items... order 2 items charges for 3...

I believe it must be some errors occured in one of above script... which file should I check for the errors?
