carlcheadle Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Ok. I already have a shop that I have messed around with, but have been quite limited in what I have done plus I gave up on it! lol Personally I think that the sites that are heavily modified (in a goodway!) look better. For example shops that dont obviously use the box includes, standard tables and have larger graphical headers which include search and other links... Some of these shops I have only really seen on Pay to Use Template sites.. I would love to see a Real Live shop that has been customised in such a way as I am thinking of biting the bulit - Starting again from scratch and buying a template from such a site. My skills lie really with HTML (Dreamweaver) and PhotoShops. I have very limited PHP Skills but am ok with messing arround with existing code once I have worked out the structure. I have so many little questions that i cant really put them here. so if anyone is free for a chat via MSN then please let me know and ill add my address. otherwise could you please leave all and any comments here. Thanks Carl
Wendy James Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Have you taken a look at the Live Shops area? There are a ton of sites there, many of them changed heavily (many not changed in any meaningful way). Should give you an idea of what osCommerce can do, which is really anything you have the time to design. Changing the look is not as hard as it may seem... expecially if you know Dreamweaver. I would suggest downloading and installing easyphp or xampp and running a site on your computer to mess with. =) Will probably shock yourself at how easy it is to do once you start looking at the code and aren't pressed to get something up and running. carlcheadle Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 First off thanks for replying. I have spent about an hour looking through the Live Stores, as you say I found one which was just unrecogniseable and all the others were more or less standard. I have already had a look at the code as I currently have a store running and live. I just feel that lots more can be done. Like a really good header and box includes. Carl
