Check the Contributions section, there are a few great ways to add metatags there

Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.

Cheers for that but I've already written my tags I just need to know where i can insert them in the os commerce package

You can't do that easily. A contribution is the best way to go since it already has the needed code changes. If you still do not want to do that though, you will need to edit most of the files in the root (about 40 of them) that use the title tag. This still won't allow you to have unique titles for your product pages (which is important to do). There is a fix for doing that but I don't have it available. You will need to search the forums for changing the products title.

I prefer Header Tags but others favor Dynamic Meta Tags. Either will do what you want. If you decide to go with Header Tags, wait a little while since a new version will be uploaded soon and it won't be a simple update from a previous vesion.
