Hi all.

 

I'm relatively new to osCommerce and need to do some interesting things. I've already found some very handy contribs and appreciate this active community.

 

What I need:

 

I need to be able to tag each item as to whether I am shipping it from my store or if it's being drop shipped from a vendor. This makes a difference in shipping costs since the vendor gets flat rate but I pay variable for things shipped from my store.

 

Also, I need to be able to determine just what will fit in a box. I deal in large items but multiples will fit into a single box. I use all 1 size box because almost all the items are the same size (but different thicknesses).

 

What would be great would be for each item to have a number associated with it whether it be inches, decimal parts of a box, etc. Then, when shipping is calculated, I could figure out how many boxes it would take of the specific size (these will be dimensional weight for sure) and combine it with either the flat rate described above OR go get the appropriate live FedEx quote for X boxes of that size from my location to their zip code.

 

The other kicker for this is that they MIGHT buy some things from the drop ship location and others from my store so even though it would all fit in 1 box, I'd need to also consider the location identifier described above to see that it would actually be 2 half full boxes - 1 from me and 1 from the vendor.

 

Lastly, I need a way to potentially create custom 'products' for each customer. What I would like to do is to be able to email them a link, have them log in, and show them this custom product - but only them. This would allow me to 'package' several items, services, and unique shipping charges all as 1 item for them to put in the cart and then check out.

 

If there are existing contribs to do this, I'll be happy to install them but so far I've not found anything. I've found things for groups of customers getting different prices but nothing on 'hidden' products.

Thanks for the response. I'll check those out. I saw a couple of them but wasn't sure exactly how to try to tie them together. Looks like the ones for multiple vendors can be made to work just fine as long as I can tie some in to the automated lookup and others be flat-rate.
