chooch Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 here's what comes up at the top when i try to upload an image using the admin area: Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/xxxxx/public_html/catalog/images/ also in tools: Error: Backup directory is not writeable. i can't even use the back up facility and cant use the banner manager either... please advise on what i have to do to remove the problem. i have not done anything in the cpanel to protect the files so it is doing my head in!! thanks in advance! Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. Wendy James Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 You must make your images directory writeable by CHMOD 777. And make sure the banner folder inside the images directory is also 777.
