Manufacturer page with sub-categories

Hi,

 

I was looking for a contribution which, after selecting a manufacturer from the drop down, would then show the products by category instead of all the products under that manufacturer (as all products is a problem for large stores), e.g.

 

When you choose Microsoft (from default site), you get back :

 

1. A mouse

2. A keyboard

3. A movie

 

I am looking for this

 

1. Hardware

2. Movies

 

and then the products would be found behind those links. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a contribution that did this.

 

So, does something like this exist already? If not, I will have to write it, so some pointers to where to get started would be nice - thanks :-)

Thanks for the advice, but I tried that one and things blew up :) I guess it's no longer compatible with the latest drops.
