K, I just realized that i can access my admin from anywhere with out a password.. what do i do??

add an .htaccess file to the directory, your host should provide you with info on how to do this.

Before you password protect your 'admin' folder, rename it first to something unique - harder to crack if it can't be found in the first place. Once you've renamed it go to admin/includes/configure.php and alter the two references to /admin/ to /newname/

After you've done that you should be able to use a Password Protect or Directory Protection feature in your web hosting control panel to password protect that folder - it writes the .htaccess file for you.

Soidsoul,

I looks like you are in the \catalog\includes\configure.php file.

The lines you need are in the \catalog\admin\includes\configure.php.

It also looks like you are using the osCommerce File Manager.

Try this:

Use a FTP program to download your files edit them in your favorite tool and upload the file back thought the FTP program or you can use the File manager that your hosting company provides.

The OSC file manager is not the preferred way to modify your site and is not recommended.
