Unable to resolve SSL issue for catalog

mbh-imports

Recommended Posts

For some strange reason, the ssl doesn?t kick in when check out. My admin works beautiful but I cannot make the catalog secure. I tried many many things but nothing seems to work for me, any other advice?

Here is my NON-WORKING catalog/includes/configure.php:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://mbh-imports.com');

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://mbh-imports.com');

define('ENABLE_SSL', true);

define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'mbh-imports.com');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'mbh-imports.com');

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', '/catalog/images/');

Here is my admin/ includes/configure.php which WORKS:

define('HTTP_SERVER', '');

define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.mbh-imports.com');

define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.mbh-imports.com');

define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', true);

define('DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT', $DOCUMENT_ROOT);

define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/admin/');

define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_ADMIN);

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', DIR_FS_DOCUMENT_ROOT . DIR_WS_CATALOG);

define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');

Thanks,

Martin

Try to do some more debugging.

1. If you're looking at index.php, do the links to log in and/or my account have https in the URL?

2. When you click on the link does the URL say https but the browser not show the padlock icon?

3. Try setting your security settings to high. If SSL is incorrectly configured, a browser with low security settings may not be alerting you that it's detecting a problem.

I did try debugging but I cant get it to work.

the URL says https only if you type it in and it goes away when you click on a link.

I dont think it is configured incorrectly because my admin works fine, is just the catalog that doesnt work.

Do you know where else I can get help?

Thanks a lot

Martin

well I went to your site

http://mbh-imports.com/catalog/

and not one of the links that should be https are, such as My Account should go to https.

One thing to check do you have a configure.php under

catalog/includes/local/

if not post up your includes/header.php and index.php

try changing the above to this

define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.mbh-imports.com');

That's the most likely thing. Lots of people end up with that second config file.

Another post suggested adding the www, that's probably not going to make any difference.

You can get an ssl connect with either, I just checked.

Also: When you access the site manually via https the baseref flips correctly so application_top.php shouldn't need any changes.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

mikeq thank U thank U thank U

may I say you are my savior this file catalog/includes/local/configure has a line of code that was wrong :

define('ENABLE_SSL', 0);

so I chanced the 0 to a 1 and my SSL now works.

No one ever mentioned this file, everyone told me to make changes in catalog/includes/configure you are the first one that told me about catalog/includes/local /configure

Thanks, thanks,

Martin

All you would need to do is rename or delete that file, osCommerce will only use it if it exists as configure.php in that includes/local directory. Personally I would remove it therefore there is no chance of it being used.
