How pass value from Shopping cart to shipping page

HI,

 

I have added an extra field on the shopping cart and I want that fields value to be passed to the next page (checkout_shipping.php).

 

Could someone enlighten me as to what i need to do.

 

I thought I just needed to specify: $HTTP_POST_VARS['MyFieldName'] on the shipping page but there this does nt seem to work.

You must create a <form> to the checkout button and post the variable to the shipping page (HTTP_POST_VARS) :D

Do you mean I need form tags round my input field.

 

So I add:

 

<form name="form1" method="post" action="checkout_shipping.php">

tep_draw_pull_down_menu('products_text_attributes_' . $text_attributes['products_text_attributes_id'], $dongles_array, $entry['product'], '');

Sorry I have tried adding a form in several places but I don't seem to be able to figure this out.

 

Could you help further?

The closing form tag </form>must be after the checkout button - also be careful not to place a form inside an existing form - this won't work.

I am sorry I just cannot get this to work.

 

Could you tell me where in the listed code below I must insert the begin form tag and the end form tag?

 

I have commented the code where the drop down menu is as "// Below outputs the form I wish the values to be passed to checkout_shipping.php"

 

All help is appreciated.

 

I just don't get where the form tags need to be.

Sorry I did not see oyur post when i replied.

 

Ok.

 

Basically some items in the cart require a number to be entered by the purchaser.

 

When these items are in the cart I output a dropdown list which is populated with values they have entered elsewhere. They then choose a value.

 

It is this value I wish to be passed onto the checkout_shipping.php file.
