Vertical Line?

Trying to figure out how to get a vertical line to go to the right of the entire left column using CSS.

The columnleft.php file has no HTML, so not sure where to call

BORDER-RIGHT: #red 1px; if I put in in the stylesheet.

Any help is appreciated.

Simple way? Like this - in stylesheet.css add this:

td.leftlinething {
?left-border-style: solid;
?left-border-color: red;
}

Then in your column_left file, add a table in like so:

<table width="100%"><tr><td class="leftlinething" width="100%">

contents of your column left file in this part, then

</td></tr></table>

Should do the trick;)

Please note - if I have suggested a contrib above, it doesnt mean it will work! Most of the contribs are not ones I've used, but may be useful for your particular problem....

Have you tried a refined search? Chances are your problem has already been dealt with elsewhere on the forums.....

if (stumped == true) {

return(square_one($start_over)

} else {

$random_query = tep_fetch_answer($forum_query)

}

Gave it a shot, but it's not working (adding a line) and it's also making that left column about 600 pixels wide.

Okay, I've messed around a bit, and couldn't get it to work, per the instructions given by a kind member .... thanks.

I have done this, and made some progess:

In index.php, around line 51, I found this code and added the leftlinething class to the existing td:

 <td width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" class="leftlinething" valign="top"><table border="0" width="<?php echo BOX_WIDTH; ?>" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">

Here is the class that I am using:

td.leftlinething {
PADDING-RIGHT: 5px;
BORDER-RIGHT: #600E03 1px solid;
}

I get the line, on the main page, but as soon as I click on another page, the line goes away. Do I have to add the class="leftlinething" to every single PHP page that is under the /catalog folder, but not the subfolders?

I was hoping to be able to put the css style to the column_left.php and when it gets called it gets displayed, but I have had no luck getting that to work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Just so this thread is closed.

I used edit plus, opened all the files under catalog (not the sub folders) and replaced the text per my previous email.

Seems to be working fine, so that's the solution I'll use to put in a vertical line to right of the left column.
