Attributes and Discounts

Let me first explain what I do. I make and sell candles. I have recently shut down retail operations but want to set up my shopping cart for my consultants and wholesale clients ordering only, keeping both separate from each other and confidential.

This is what I am looking for:

I currently have three percentage levels for Consultants and one for Wholesale clients. I would like to assign discount levels I guess per customer as that seems the best and only way to set it up. How do I go about doing this and what is the base price that goes in each product? Retail and then use then each consultant/wholesale client will receive their respective discount assigned to them at checkout?

It would also make life so much easier for adding products/attributes if there is an easy way to assign multiple attributes to each product. Currently, I offer 6 products with 70 scent selections and 2 products with 28 scent selection and I plan on adding more product for the fall. Right now I am having to assign each individual attribute to each individual product. That's 1,000's of attributes.

I have looked over this forum for help in both these instances but I have to confess that when I look over the contributions, I'm at a total and complete loss as to which one would best fit my needs and how to go about installing it and getting it working. It's all completely Greek to me. I am really asking for help from start to finish on this as I know nothing about PHP and am new to OSC. I am running what I assume is a basic OSC shop.

I thought that creating separate categories for all discount levels would solve my problem temporarily at least and that I could just copy the products and the attributes would copy along with them, but I was wrong. I still have to assign each attribute to the each copied product. I'm about ready to give up and just cry. I want to make this functional and easy for everyone involved but it's not turning out that way.

If there is anyone out there that can walk me through this, I would be so grateful! Thank you in advance for your help!

There is a contribution Seperate Pricing Per Customer which allows you to assign people to groups and then have pricing according to the groups for each product.

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,716

also one that works with that that allows discounts for large quantities

There are many different ways to make the attributes/options easier.

try attribute sets http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2201

for setting up groups of attributes for products that will all have the same options

Thank you so much for your help! I have downloaded these contributions. Now if I can figure out how to get them installed into my store, I'll be okay
