Hi,

I have a number of questions, some related to suggesting contributions and other regarding modifications. I have searched for all of these.

here i go:

1. i want to change default sort order of products to display the most recently added at the top. I've tried this:

//added a new case to switch
#############################
 // MY ONE
 case 'PRODUCT_LIST_DATE_ADDED':
         $select_column_list .= 'p.products_date_added, ';
         break;
	 //EO MY ONE
 #############################

//and changed commented to uncommented below
/*if ($column_list[$i] == 'PRODUCT_LIST_NAME') {
         $HTTP_GET_VARS['sort'] = $i+1 . 'a';
         $listing_sql .= " order by pd.products_name";
         break;
       }*/
 if ($column_list[$i] == 'PRODUCT_LIST_DATE_ADDED') {
         $HTTP_GET_VARS['sort'] = $i+1 . 'a';
         $listing_sql .= " order by p.products_date_added";
         break;
       }

This has changed sort order to be by date but always by oldest first.

2. I need to be able to offer international sign for as an option for delivery, this is a flat ?3.30 extra, any idea how i can offer this as a simple extra on the payment page. (I'm using the 4 zone UK Royal Mail Rates contrib)

3. Can i use the banner management system to power my banners on my main site (i.e. not in my shop), if so what files do i need to look for?

Thanks.

just remembered the other question I wanted to ask:

4. Is there any quick way to disable an OScommerce shop, should there be any problems I need to be able to disable the shop immediately.

I use Down for Maintenance v2.1 for MS2 myself, but there are others.

I don't use STS, so can't comment there... You should have a whole slew of admin options, including:

Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF false

Down for Maintenance: filename down_for_maintenance.php

Down for Maintenance: Hide Header false

Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Left false

Down for Maintenance: Hide Column Right false

Down for Maintenance: Hide Footer false

Down for Maintenance: Hide Prices false

Down For Maintenance (exclude this IP-Address) 198.xxx.xxx.xx

NOTIFY PUBLIC Before going Down for Maintenance: ON/OFF false

Date and hours for notice before maintenance April 21, 2004 between the hours of 10-12 PM (U.S. EST)

Display when webmaster has enabled maintenance false

Display website maintenance period false

Website maintenance period 2h00

Is your IP excluded?
