julianpuje Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I've now tried the More Pics 6 contribution, which has a load of updates but no full packages since 2003 and the additional images contribution that has top to tail text instructions that don't appear to work. Just spent 4 hrs trying these out and can't get either to work. :'( Any help or advice appreciated, especially a link to a known contribution that adds extra images. (yes, i've looked through the contributions  ) TIA Julian A little knowledge is dangerous, I SHOULD KNOW. If Life Begins At 40, What ends????
Wendy James Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I am not sure what the problem is, but I have installed both of those contributions and they work great. Maybe if you post the problem someone could help. There is another one that works called UltraPics. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1642 UltraPics has another version with lots more included if you want to see that one as well. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1689 Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. julianpuje Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Thanks for the reply Wendy and the links. The problem is that my admin/categories.php is modified to the hilt, and both these contributions have large modifications to this file. Especially the additional images, which modifies it's own mods!!! when you get further down the contribution. I'm also using WYSYWIG editor, product attribute mods etc which also modify this file quite a lot. The first part of the code to be added in the contri's to this file is very different to mine, so i am trying to find a way to add this part, but up to now without success. The rest is pretty straight forward. I'll try and add that piece of code again and post the error i'm getting. Unfortunately this will be in two days as i'm off to the Royal Ascot (York this year?)tomorrow for a chill out day. :D Hopefully i'll have more success with the horses than i have today with my site. Thanks again Julian A little knowledge is dangerous, I SHOULD KNOW. Wendy James Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 If it comes down to it and the contributions are a pain to merge (i know how that is) you could always use an iframe or an include to a page with your images on it. Not as pretty as the contributions but it does work. I am helping someone with their site. They sell perfume, hand lotion and so on... all come in the same sizes, same bottles. So instead of having to upload these images for every product (because he wanted to show them all on each products page) I just used an iframe that called an html file with all the images. He just puts the code that calls the iframe in the products description because he has other categories that will not need the images. Someone else may have a better idea but it was quick, easy and worked. lol All I care about. =) Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
