deangelis Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Can I use images located on an external website as my images for products? Also can I link to graphics used on pages, from an external website? My product source has its own website and puts out a datafeed for their items. But the OScommerce datafeed uses images and page content that is located on their own website. So far, it seems that I can not get any links to their site to work!
♥Vger Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Basically the answer would have to be no - not unless ALL of the images on your site (including all of the osCommerce images) were being pulled from an external website. Then, the path to 'images' in your configure.php files could be changed from 'images/' to 'http://www.someothersite.com/images/', but this would then be your image folder for all of your website's images. There would be no problem in linking to external websites via the 'catalog', under Manufacturers, but I'm assuming that's not what you want. Also, unless this remote folder was available via an https connection as well as http it would mean you could never successfully use an ssl connection on your own store (because each image would generate a warning). develop222 Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Does anyone know how to pull the images from a urls from a 3rd party feed so that you can host them on your own site?
