No TAX added with PayPal IPN

Please help,

I had the common problem with PayPal that someone paid, but no order was stored in my database.

I installed PayPal IPN module to fix this and now orders are stored before payment is taken - great stuff!

But when directed to PayPal for payment it is only requesting the Net amount (ie with no VAT!)

The order has vat on it, but paypal does not include it?

e.g order total ?11.75

paypal requests ?10.00 not ?11.75 (tax 17.5%)

Thanks

I believe this is a "feature" of PayPal itself (at least the USA PayPal) - it does not show the tax amount on the first page - the correct figure should be displayed when the user logs in.

If you have a PayPal account, you can easily check this yourself.

Edit: If you are only selling to the UK, then I think there's probably somewhere within PayPal that you can set a "fixed" tax rate on all orders - it might show up properly then.

Thanks,

I just did a test purchase for ?2.25 +7.5p&p = 9.75.

Paypal showed item amount 0.79 + 7.5p&p = 9.75 total!

Strange, I completed checkout and the correct total WAS taken. But This is no good, I need the correct amount to be shown when the customer pays!

Please help!

Take it up with PayPal. But don't expect any joy.

Did you try poking around in your merchant configuration options to set the tax rate there?

Problem fixed, forget PayPal IPN as it doesn`t work very well with PayPal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I installed Held Order module instead and just use the normal PayPal

.

Held Order

So no matter what payment method goes wronge I will still know what the customer had in their cart up-on leaving to pay.

Sorted
