Payal and CC question

Hi all,

I've been looking at all these paypal contribs and I'm confused like you wouldn't belive :P

Is there a way to allow a user to have a selection at the checkout process to go to paypal and paypal CC ?

So if they choose paypal they would be transported to the paypal page where they would enter their login/pass to transer the funds from their paypal account,

or

If they had a CC handy they could choose paypal CC (from the checkout process) and that would process the order at paypal, instead taking them to paypal and having them click "if your not a paypal member click here" ?

I'd ultimately like to have the customers add their credit card info at my store's checkout, and then the order be processed by paypal instead of having them retype their info there.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated,

Thanks in advance :)

The drawback of using a 3rd party payment processor like PayPal is you have little or no control over it. There's no way to control the "flow" once on the PayPal site, so you won't be able to jump to different "functions" of PayPal at all.

You certainly won't be able to have customers enter their CC info in your store and have them processed by PayPal - you will need a proper payment gateway and merchant account for that.

what is a payment gateway? The machine that takes the credit card info?

Virtually, yes.
