Newbie iFrame Suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just starting and want to use this handy tool inside my already nifty looking site

ULF

I am just nervous. It's already taken me a while (since I am a newbie) to get the custamization this far.

Has anyone else seen the store succesfully implemented in an iFrame?

How easliy can the links inside the store be adjusted (ie. the "top" link brings my home page inside the frame ... yuck!)

Also if I do use the iFrame, is it possible to link to different store pages inside the frame (i.e on a page in my main site link specifically to a certain product page?)

Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.

No, and iFrame is not really a very good idea for this, if only because search engines will not be able to pick up your dynamic products and index them.

My question is, why would you want to? It would be easy enough to make your osc cart look exactly like that without using an iFrame.

Really? I feel like it would take me years...

Would't I have to code 50+ pages? and I wouldn't even know where to start.

as a wysiwyg user, all this php is very intimidating to me.

Great thought about the search engines though. I didn't think about that.

Well, sigh. I guess I better get reading. Thanks for the quick response!

I dunno what GLive is, but it just looks like javascript to me.

Put it in the right place, and it should be fine. If not, there are tons of dhtmls solutions.

No, you wouldn't need to write 50 pages of code, lol. You would have to do a pretty fair amount of editing, but that's what this is all about. You can't be a web programmer without leanrning how to program.

Thanks wizards!

I am going to give it a shot. GoLive is Adobe's version of dremweaver and is what my company uses and the said thing is the word programmer makes me cringe. We don't have one, therefore I am blessed with this project. Sigh, maybe someday I can go back to being a graphic designer.

;) Thanks again!
