problems with modules

Hi

I have a problem with modules - it was all ok till a few days ago and then in my admin panel when I click modules all I can see is 'module catalog : includes/modules/payment/' or /shipping/ or /order_total/. and button turn on that is not working.

I have no idea what happened.

orders are coming to my email but they do not appear in admin panel and i do not get the sum of the order -> seems that modules are missing and they are but just in panel. i got files in includes/modules/ and config file is unchanged.

anyone know how to restore those modules or make them work?

Regards

I have a similar problem I think. I just noticed this error (see screen dump) in my modules payments and don't know when it happened. I have multiple backups but what to know which particular file to reinstall.

All my other modules work, ie. shipping, and order total, but cannot see the install or edit columns. I would like any help available.

Thanks in advance.

Howdee,

I have the same problem as mymonky. My payment and shipping modules also do not show up in the admin section. And they don't work during check out either.

It just shows the directory path (which is correct) and an install button, but no modules.

Can anyone please help? :'(

Well, I don't know. That IS wierd. Have any of you tried reinstalling from the admin? Reinstalling the files themselves? What happens?

Everything's funny but nothing's a joke...

I don't know if my problem is exactly like theirs, but as you can see from my screen dump, I can't install or uninstall.....no column there to edit or remove. I have done file comparisons on about 30 files, but cannot seem to find the one to replace. I assume it is in admin, and have checked modules.php many times over. I will include the code, but could it be another file that I am missing? As mentioned, the shipping and order totals work fine.

I can post code if it is helpful.

Thanks again

I have replaced all files that I could think of in the admin folder from preivous backups. But nothing seems to work. It really is funny that the shipping works perfectly, the Total order, and all other aspects of admin. This is unfortunately causing me huge headaches.

I really want to uninstall the oscommerce paypal and reinstall the new paypal IPN.

PLEAZ!!! help.

Hi Beachie (and others),

Sorry but my post won't be of any help to you. I was having problem with the shipping/payments and total order modules and I just could not figure out why it wasn't working. I called my host, they had no idea either since they hadn't done any upgrades or changes. And I had followed all the relevant files, but so luck.

So I "caved in", deleted the shop and did a new install. And lo and behold: it works fine again... No idea what so ever what may have caused the problems.

Perhaps someone will find out one day?

To address your problem as I understand it, Beachie: our problems were/are the exact reverse. As far as I can tell your modules work fine, but you have no install button. My problem was that my modules were not showing or working, but there *was* an install button (which didn't work of course, because no modules were showing to install). Perhaps you can make a totally new post for your problem, Beachie? If you haven't already that is.

Bye for now and thanks for the attempts at help

Wim

Thanks for the comment at least. Much appreciated, appsil. I've spent 2 full days now and replaced each file one at a time to check which one affects the "catalog/admin/modules.php?set=payment" file, but still have no luck. I will try to install the paypal IPN and see if that changes anything. Hopefully it will work even though the directions in the installation says to "uninstall" your present paypal mod.

Still though, if anyone knows a solution, sure would make me happy.

I'm having the same problem where my installs buttons are missing next to my payment options. Anyone help?

mymonkey: Did you have any progress in your problem? I know after replacing and comparing and replacing and comparing I still haven't found the problem. The trouble is, I don't know how far back to go in backups. Someone out there must know how the modules are loaded into the modules.php file and which files are associated.

Thanks again for any help.......

I finally got my Install, edit & remove buttons back on my admin>payment screen! Yeah! It was a problem with my paypal functionality. For some reason, the modules.php file was looking for paypalorig.php which is the file name I gave my backup paypal.php file. I deleted the file includes>module>payment>paypal.php, re-uploaded it & all is well.

Well, after over 50 hours working and testing file comparisons, and replacing all the files I thought were associated, I replaced modules.php many times, which didn't help, and finally deleted the whole payment folder in includes/modules/

I checked the payment module in admin, and it luckily defaulted back to show the Install button.

Then I replaced the payment folder, and low and behold all was well in my household.

Thanks to the people who replied. I didn't realize it would take so long to figure out.

Ron

ok, solved (i hope)

all I did was:

copy /includes/modules to /admin/includes/module

+language files

and I still have no idea why it did not work.. and why it works...
