I have tried 777, 644, 444, and many other combinations. none are working. I have read most of the knowledge base answers but have not seen anything that is helping. Is it possible to change the configuration files that need to be changed before i do the initial install. I know its a far fetched question but i'm a newbie. lol
♥Vger
Using the chmod command via FTP only works for Apache servers and not for Windows servers. Go to your web hosting control panel, look for the File Manager, navigate to the files you want to alter permissions on and then use the File Manager to alter them. designbysue
Be sure to hit the refresh button on the FTP program (I use WS_FTPPro) - otherwise the setting won't stick.
