ShowRides Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I have a major problem that needs to be fixed with my paypal payment method very quickly! Whenever someone purchases an item from my site using check/money order, everything works fine and I can see the order in my admin section. However, when I use the paypal payment method I do receive the correct amount of money, except NO details on the item are sent to me! Someone sent me $75 today for an item, and it doesn't show up in my bestsellers list or in my admin control panel :'( In summary, I can receive money fine, but the item that is purchased is not described anywhere. Even through paypal, the description for the item is simply "Show Rides", which is the name of my store. Please help me solve this problem :(
ShowRides Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Hmm, I set the default mode of Paypal to go to Processing instead of Pending, that fixed the problem. Someone who works on osCommerce should take note of this, it scared the hell out of me  However, products purchased with paypal still don't show up in the bestsellers list, any ideas?
Wendy James Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 So you see orders in your admin area.. You either need to set up the auto return feature at paypals site, sending customers pack to checkout_success.php or install the paypal IPN module that can be found in the contributions area Not sure why the information isnt passing to paypal though, I have never come across that problem. ShowRides Posted June 9, 2005 Author Posted June 9, 2005 Thanks, I will install the IPN Module now :D
ShowRides Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 Damn, for some reason it isn't working again. I tried installing the IPN Module and that doesn't work either :(
ShowRides Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 Sorry for double post, but is there any way for an e-mail to sent to me along to the customer who purchases the product?
ShowRides Posted June 16, 2005 Author Posted June 16, 2005 OK, Problem solved, apparently you have to make "enable paypal IPN payments" TRUE, who would've guessed :P
Guest Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 So all this I just wrote isn't necessary, but, hey, it may help the next shop owner: Go to your Paypal account and look in website payments. Enable Auto-Return. It is fast and easy. It works 99.5% of the time for me. The URL for returns should be either checkout_processing.php or checkout_success.php (with your full url, not just the file name). the processing file works for me on auto-return, but most folks have it set to the success file. Most people will tell you to install the IPN, but this is quick and simple and really does work. Paypal will send confirmation back to your shop and the order will complete. E-mail will be sent to your customer and you (assuming you have it set up that way) with all order data.
