jamiewalsh
we've been running oscommerce on our site for a year and a half: www.silverlakepub.com it's been a good experience for us. now we've got trouble. our new orders have not been updating to the database. the orders table has stopped adding to itself. we know we are getting more orders because: we get an email from paypal (occasionally) now saying we we have an order and we watch activity on the site though the admin. also, we are getting new customers who have made the phantom orders. we don't have the order details because the database table (orders) is not updating. do I just have to reinstall it all? I really dread this. Also, I really don't think it has anything to do with the order_status setting 0/1/2/etc. I'll be happy to install the paypal module. But this is some internal thing which has to be figured out first. I reeaaally neeeed helllp wiith thiss. thanks-- Jamie
wizardsandwars
It's probably just your customers not hitting the 'continue' button at paypal, which notifies osc that the payment has been made. This is a very common error, and there are literally 1000's of posts on this very same subject. You can search for any of those, or you can just install the paypal IPN contribution (one of the many) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help. NHRAFan
You are going to have to give more details. What changed? Who has access to the admin? Did your host change anything? Can you complete an order yourself? Does it work properly when you do?

And before this started all were getting through.

I've already checked to see if an uploaded program file was erased. don't know if host changed anything. order appears to complete but not recorded when i do it. NHRAFan
order appears to complete but not recorded when i do it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does the order complete or not? That pretty important to know at this point. Are you getting to the payment success screen? Do you get an e-mail from osC? Do you offer any other payment options? Can you link your store so we can take a look?
