dc_guy Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I realize that what one would consider "successful" traffic depends highly on the individual, but I'm interested in what other stores average in unique hits per day after their store is up for about a month or so. After nearly one month, our store is currently getting about 47-52 unique visits per day, averaging around 240-260 hits total. Most people are coming from Yahoo.. unfortunately, Google has come to the site only 4 times since day one... looked at one page, then left. It's killing me, I want Google to go through as deep (heck, deeper) than Yahoo does. Anyway, going on traffic alone, what do you consider as generally "successful" traffic for the first months? Also, I read that it's common for about 5% of visitors to actually place an order... is this generally accurate?
Guest Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 not sure, it all depends upon if you have been indexed, if your site is found via search engines, and the type of product you sell and the price of the product.

As long as the trend lines are generally moving upward (there will always be up and down bounces), you're doing well. If the numbers plateau, you might want to rethink your strategy. Anyway, you can't expect to get a firm foothold in less than six months. "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
