To edit the text on your main page you will need to edit catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php (and/or any other languages you are using in your store)

 

look for the line that says

define('TEXT_MAIN', 'somestuffhere');

 

change everything where i put somestuffhere making sure to leave a ' before and ' after.
