pramodc
Hi I have tried to install OSCOMMERCE from a remote site and failed. I have deployed the "CATALOG' folder in the remote server and select 'INSTALL' . But it stopped on the second step half way. It is not showing whether the test connection to the database server is a success or failure. It stopped half way showing half of the box. I don't know what to do. I have installed it in my local system successfully but I don't know why I cannot install it remotely. It is not even showing an error message. NB: I tried to install it on a Windows Server. Please Help :(
Wendy James
I think a lot of people have had that problem lately and it was usually caused by php5. The suggestion, if I remember correctly was to go back to the php4 or to manually install both the files and the database then editing the configure.php files. meralemar
I have a similar problem, I've just installed oscommerce in a server at home. (I have Apache 2.0.54, Php 5.0.4 and MySQL 4.12). It works fine locally. But when I try to access the virtual shop from the web browser it does not work. I can't see images, styles does not work either, and if I click on a link I got a "page not found" errror. What should I change in cofiguration to get it work on the web? I installed the files manually and modified the cofigure.php, changing localhost to my IP and it still doesn't work. Please help. ♥Vger
I'd advise using your domain name reather than ip address, but that shouldn't cause a problem either way. http_server = http://www.yourdomain.com, and leave all https entries blank if no ssl is enabled. path to catalog = '/catalog/ http cookie domain = www.yourdomain.com (no http://) Give those settings a try and see how you get on.
