The Basics of installing SSL

Hi everyone.

 

I've done a search but what I really want to know are the basics of installing an SSL cert.

 

My current understanding is:

 

1) Buy SSL cert from someone like Verisign.

2) Install it on my site - how? (whats involved?)

 

 

Secondly:

a) What details will I need to give Verisign?

B) Are all certs roughly the same price, not compromising security?

c) Is the basic 40-bit encryption that Verisign offer 'enough'?

this is server management, thus should be with your host/server management forum

you need 128 bit security
