Guest
that is basically it, you need to apply for a merchant account, perhaps speaking with your bank you use they will get you more information on what you need to do to process credit cards

Wendy James
Yes you can use paypal. People suggest you get the oscommerce supported IPN module from the contribution area. =) http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2679 Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. telepatico
I just pay about $10.00 for the monthly statement and about $15.00 for the monthly bill. They provided me with a virtual terminal, so I can enter credit cards myself, and also is compatible with the contributions on oscommerce. Once a customer click on the checkout, then the information will go to the merchant account server, without the customer leaving your site. The check out page is secure, when a SSL cerificate is installed. My hosting company offer a shared certificate for free as a part of the deal and it works to even 256 bit , when using Firefox. Your payment module has to be configure with the password info your merchant acount gave you. There is a test mode and a production server mode. In the first one, you just test, the second option is the real thing. I encountered myself that this great contributions had made it easier for us. The shipping module for USPS is great too. I am using Authorize.net as a merchant service.

joannemojo
I'm am completely green when it comes to oscommerce. I am setting up a website (http://www.spidersmusic.com) where I will sell new and used CD's and Vinyls. I don't actually understand payment issues. I already have a PayPal account (I use it for Ebay) which accepts credit card payments. Is there a way that I can only use PayPal to receive payments through my site? I looked at paypals info on merchant accounts but it basically confused me. Any help on this matter would be greatfully received.
LaserDVD's
You can apply for a payment gateway,i understand it a bit better now, nochex is good as you cna provide everything on the spot, enter in all your details and when you get to the control panel,go down to payment links, that will give you a banner type thing so people know they will be paying by nochex or whatever, then to include it in your shopping cart, press help then scroll down to seller tools, then click checkout, and look at the FAQ how do i integrate it into my shopping cart and it tells you how to do it!! Job Done, although i havn't tried it yet lol Chris @ Laser Entertainment
