[CONTRIBUTION] Ultimate SEO URLs v2.1 - by Chemo

I switched to cName method and now the URL's are ok EXCEPT for the osCsid which is still there. I noticed that my CRE 6.15 version does not use the session ID in the URL and after adding this contrib, it worked perfect. However, on a site with standard MS2, the session ID remains. Is there another contrib that takes care of removing this from the URL until checkout? I have checked my Admin settings and both sites are set the same.

 

Examples:

 

http://cartxpress-demo.com/catalog/ && contains osCsid

 

http://64.177.57.205/CREw/ && has no osCsid until checkout. beautiful!

 

Any suggesstions? I searched the Contribs section to no avail.

I noticed when using the mod_rewrite method, all worked great until you clicked the checkout button and went to the secure url. I just got an Internal Server error. When i asked the NOC about it, I was informed that my server does not have mod_rewrite installed for secure Apache.

 

My question is this: Why does the checkout page need mod_rewrite? Once you hit the secure URL, doesn't it revert back to the old type URL with the osCsid?

 

Is there a fix for this? Everything works 100% as long as the url is http:// and not https://.

After installing this contribution I get the following error in the admin page of my cart.

I have now restored the original files and the SEO URLs option is still in the admin site of the shopping cart.

 

When I click on this I get this error

INSTALLATION - Clean install on sterile osCommerce MS-2.2

Just read this from the instruction page.

I guess I should have installed this contribution from the start. I have just restored to my back-up from yesterday and all seems fine now.

If anyone could let me know if it is possible to install from an already running shop and explain my original error I would appreciate it ;)

I am hopelessly lost. I installed some minor contribs and made changes to the code, the HTC contrib was already a challenge for a noob like me but I finally did it,

 

SEO URLS is far too much for me, seemstoo work in the url but my shopping process gives me errrors e.g.

ok something with the charset, which can be done in admin I assume, bit I am lost.

any help for a php-greenhorn from germany?

I had installed this contribution a few months ago and back then I ran into a problem with the .htaccess file. It appears there are issues with the ReWrite. After speaking with Chemo, i thought it was my host, but since then I have launched several other sites with ReWrite and they all seem to work fine (Mambo SEF).

 

Can anyone help with some testing on the .Htaccess file? Is there some code we can put in there to test to see why this is causing a problem?

 

Right now, with the standard install I am getting a Internal Server Error 500

I dont have cookies turned on, but when i was playing around and turned it on I was just saying the it made my pages looks messy, as if the .css file was not being read. But that was just a guess.

cheers chemo for the great contrib but i am getting a tad bit stuck on a cre loaded site.... it makes it all the way through the shop until the very last page then it returns that the orders_id is 0 and the order isn;t added to the shop. Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong?

I have encountered the following error or misbehavior:

 

The PWA (purchase without account) contribution uses the following redirect:

The & between fail and reason is turned into a & which causes the next page to display the incorrect error message. Any ideas how I can rectify this issue?

I tested the above comment a bit and it seems that the error is introduced by the tep_redirect:

This statement will produce the following link

.../catalog/login.php?login=fail&reason=test

 

the & should either be a & or a SEO safe url. The way it is now is broken.

Ok, after some more poking here is why this fails and how to correct it. I think this is a real bug. Comments appreciated. The function that causes the problem is function stock_href_link()

 

The last line is: return htmlspecialchars(utf8_encode($link));

 

Why is there a htmlspecialchars() function? This function turns every & into an &

I replaced it with:

 

return str_replace('"','"',str_replace('>','&gt',str_replace('<','<',utf8_encode($link))));

 

This does the same as htmlspecialchars except leaves the & unchanged, because these are the parameter separators.

 

It would be great to hear from the contribution author if my fix is ok or could cause other problems later on. Any other solution would be appreciated, too.
