Deskdirect Posted June 5, 2005 Share Posted June 5, 2005 Yesterday I got five orders through my store, three with shipping added two without. I did a test today and during checkout the checkout_shipping.php page is bypassed and goes right to the checkout_payment.php page. I haven't got a clue what happened to cause this behaviour. Genuine Performance Posted June 6, 2005 Share Posted June 6, 2005 Im having this same problem...do you notice if when ordering an item with an attribute the shipping works and when ordering an item without an attribute the shipping does not work? I have a few items with attributes most without and that hasn't been a problem. But the two orders I did get without the shipping don't have attributes attached to them. Deskdirect Posted June 7, 2005 Author Share Posted June 7, 2005 I've search this forum and my host's forum and there seems to be quite a few folks dealing with this issue but no one seems to have an answer. I am concerned because my store has been operating for a few years now without any ordering problem and then wham! I've changed nothing and while I know that files get corupted I have replaced all the files from a backup when I know these problems didn't exisit. Please, I am losing orders as we speak! I have uploaded the shipping modules again but it makes no difference, someone must know what the problem is. There are a few other problems I have had that just mysteriously appear and like you I can find many others with the same problems but no way to fix them. After reading through this discussion here and doing some thinking on my own- I've figured out a simple fix. Basically delete then re-add the attribute to the product- if the shipping is not being calculated. Too many edits of the attributes (the name, the attached file)..the OSC goes blank and doesn't recognize it. After I did this...things again worked like a charm. HTH someone else! Basically delete then re-add the attribute to the product- if the shipping is not being calculated. There's another caveat. To get things to work- you need to check out sans an attribute first, then re-add the attribute. Shipping should come up the next time. Minor bug..not the worst.
