beautype
I made a couple of big mistakes as I am new to website publishing and os commerce. I edited using the file manger which messed up everything and then I tried to edit with Frontpage and now I get even more errors. When I go to my file manger and open up header.php I get this error... Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/beautype/beautyperfumes-www/catalog//includes/header.php What should I do? Someone please help
♥Vger
Okay, so you know NOT to use the File Manager, and you also know now not to use FrontPage. But have you also got FrontPage extensions installed on your website? If so, get your hosting company to uninstall them, then manually go through every folder via FTP and delete all folders beginning with vti_ Just uninstalling FrontPage extensions does not remove the folders. FrontPage also messes with any .htaccess files you have, so you'll either need to delete those or else edit out the code put into them by FrontPage. Finally, check that your 'includes' folder has permissions of 755 or 777. Vger

Wendy James
Why not just grab it out of the zip file you downloaded from oscommerce? Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

Please set the right user permissions on: /home/beautype/beautyperfumes-www/catalog//includes/header.php Looking at the error you have a extra / so it looks like your missing a dir. that it is looking for and doesn't exsist.
