abz786
Hi, I've been trying to work out an anomaly with our search results but I can't figure it out. We have our search box set up so both titles and descriptions are searched using keywords. We sell 0.75m, 1.5m, 3m, 5m and 10m length cables. If I search using any one of the following keywords '0.75m', '1.5m', '3m' & '10m' I get the correct results. So, for example, if I search using keyword '0.75m', then the results just show cables with 0.75m lengths. So far, so good. The problem occurs when I search using the keyword '5m'. Using this as the keyword, the search results come back with 0.75m, 1.5m and 5m length cables - not highly relevant. This is annoying for customers as they have to scroll to the bottom of the results page to find 5m cables. I can't work out why using the keywords '1.5m' & '0.75m' I get relevant results and not when I use '5m'. Any thoughts anyone?
KaiAnimation
I think the search is doing the right job. It sees the 5m on the end of 1.5m or 7.5m and adds this to the results. Maybe the way to fix this is to call the 5m cables 5.0m. If I'm giving advice, it is based on what path I would take to fix your problem. My path may be wrong.
