PayPal Problems

Hello :

 

Is anyone else having problems with PayPal credit card payments ? The order goes to " preparing (paypal IPN) " and no money gets transfered to my account and the order doesn't complete.

This has happened to two different customers.

I am having a problem with paypal too. I will get the money for the order into my paypal account, but the order doesn't show up. Any ideas?

The order status for all Paypal ipn orders is et to " preparing (paypal IPN) " when the customer leaves your site to make payment at paypal, when the payment is completed he is then sent back to your site and the order is moved to "Pending"

 

If he does not complete the payment there, ofcourse no payment goes to your paypal account, and the order stays as " preparing (paypal IPN) " in your admin.

 

The order can also stay as " preparing (paypal IPN) " if the customer has completed his order but does not return to your site afterwards for some reason.

(This is why the order is stored as he lives your site, as a backup if he fails to return after payment).

Install the Paypal ipn module, and you will always have a copy of the order, even if the cutomer does not return to your site after having completet payment at the Paypal page.

Ok, in your experiences, is it worth the tech problems to have paypal as an option to the customers with osc (does it actually increase sales?), or is it something that you have to battle every time paypal has an upgrade, etc?
