FalseDawn Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 For a bit of fun... There's this guy who's really shy, so he goes to a book store and buys a book titled "Learn to Mingle". He gets home and and as soon as he starts reading it, he realizes it's no use to him. Why?
Aziz Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 For a bit of fun... There's this guy who's really shy, so he goes to a book store and buys a book titled "Learn to Mingle". He gets home and and as soon as he starts reading it, he realizes it's no use to him. Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe because hes too shy to mingle  Peace, --------------------------------
GraphicsGuy Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 He doesn't get invited to parties so there is no opportunity to "mingle"? Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
FalseDawn Posted June 4, 2005 Author Posted June 4, 2005 All wrong. It's "lateral thinking", so the answer isn't going to be anything that obvious.

dreamscape Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 the book suggests going to the local bookstore The only thing necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing - Edmund Burke
FalseDawn Posted June 5, 2005 Author Posted June 5, 2005 TheJackal is right, but for the wrong reason...
Guest Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 My first action was to go to dictionary.com and look at the definition. I think it only listed 2 and neither seemed different enough to suggest a "lateral" answer. I just checked the Concise Oxford Dictionary. It suggests that mingle means to mix. So maybe the book is about mixing things like chemicals, recipes, etc. ed
FalseDawn Posted June 5, 2005 Author Posted June 5, 2005 No, it's nothing to do with the definition of the words.

Rule #1: Without exception, backup your database and files before making any changes to your files or database. Rule #2: Make sure there are no exceptions to Rule #1.
FalseDawn Posted June 5, 2005 Author Posted June 5, 2005 Nope - all wrong. If he was dyslexic or couldn't read - why would be buy a book in the first place? I thought someone would have figured it out by now!
joop Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 He has been to the bookstore to buy the book so he already mingled with the crowd there.
FalseDawn Posted June 5, 2005 Author Posted June 5, 2005 No, as I said, he got the wrong book. The question is, why?
