Guest Posted June 4, 2005 Share Posted June 4, 2005 I've looked through many contributions and didn't find one that I think would be perfect for online retailers: The idea is to have a page with all the products displayed with the buy now column, with the checkout and add to cart buttons at the bottom What I mean is something like a product_listing page that displays all the products And yes, i know there are many "all products" contributions out there, I tried them ALL, but I'm using a contrib that turns all the buy now buttons to checkboxes (or quantity text fields), so unless I have the add to cart button below (and currently NO all products contribution has it), nobody will be able to add any product from my all product page, and there are many shop owners like me with this problem!! It seems so simple, yet nobody seems to be able to do this! Here's my challenge to you coders: are you able to set up such a page, or is it really too difficult for everybody? =) A nice contrib can come out of this! What this means is that with 1 click you can add multiple products(with multiple quantities to the cart)" _____________ It's a replacement for the standard product listing, all it does is change the buy now button into text fields It doesn't show all the products in the store!! Guest Posted June 4, 2005 Share Posted June 4, 2005 You can actually see all the contributions I've tried, these are the links to my site to let you see what happens: Standard all products page: All Products - No Images, Add To Cart, nothing, just for search engines Category gimmick (set up a special "if" statement to show all the products for the cpath relative to a category I created and named "all products"): All Products2 - For some reason, no Add to cart and checkout buttons -__- All_prods.php: Yet another contrib Allprods.php And another one (this one worked but had no add to cart button - again -, I tried editing it but there's some syntax error, however I'm not correcting it since even if it worked like it's supposed to, it would be useless without add to cart Here Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted June 4, 2005 Share Posted June 4, 2005 Moreover, in a desperate attempt, I installed the search box enhancement which lets it search in the descriptions If you search "book" in the search box, it WILL display all of my products, but...guess what? the search function has no add to cart button at the bottom ^^ I don't think there are other ways here rather than asking the experts... Now you just have to change the product query to include all products insted of just a sub category. Its quite easy..... I for one has marked your shop as a no-buy entity. Why? If you can not even take the time to learn anything as basic as this, well i would not trust the security of my information at your shop. If you are serious about your online business, and do not have the means to pay someone who can do the technical bit for you, you should atleast be willing to spend some time to learn how to do the basics yourself. Look in my signature, there you can find links to some greate starting ressurces, after having read those, do search out some php and mysql ressurces on the web. If you do take the time and effort to do just this, you will be able to enhance your online shop to no end. If you do not have the interesst, inclination and/or abilety to learn new things, your online business venture is just an accident waiting to happen.
