Why can't I reinstall Authorize.net

My problem started when my programmer tried to fix a problem that was apparently being caused by Authorize.net. It unexpectedly caused my store to hang at the checkout (at least the programmer said that he found that to be the cause of the problmem). I then tried to fix the issue by uninstalling Authorize.net. I wanted to reinstall it, but when I click the "+install" button, it doesn't install, nor does any other payment module. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? By the way, it still appears that authorize.net is installed on my system as my store continues to hang at checkout. What files do I need to check/alter to get this working again?

you need to find out what contribution they installed, and try to install it correctly, sounds like the programmer was lost
