How Do You Clear the Pending Order Total?

Recommended Posts

have done some testing and finally went live with my OsCommerce store which has received a few orders. When I log into the back end it says that my pending orders are at 42 ! Somehow this number stays even though all of the few orders are now switched to "delivered". I think this number must have been tricked somehow when I was testing with Authorize.net.

Is there a way to reset or clear the pending order total that is listed on the left box when you first log into the backend ?

Yes you can reset the order number(s) via phpMyAdmin, but if you already have orders you will have to either delte them or renumber them... (at least from what I have leanred) if you want them all in sequence.

But be careful in there ... if you do not know what you are doing you can really mess things up... I learned the hard way , but on the plus side I now know more about it then I did when I started which was nothing.

Thanks MzBeanz...

I have phpMyAdmin on here and do not want to mess anything up beyond my capabilities. Can anyone help me out in detail with this advanced task of resetting the pending order total.

I don't have messenger here at work. Can you post how this is done on here? I understand a bit of phpMyAdmin and have worked in there before so hopefully I can follow any steps you list.

There are several places to edit or you will run into trouble with future orders.. but you go into your phpmyAdmin and

1- open your database

2- slect orders on the left

3- then click browse on the right on top

4- there is a drop down box showing page numbers ...go to last entry and make sure that you find the orders that you want to delete. (you can click on orders_ID at top in blue to put them in sort order)

5- put tick mark in box then hit trash can

6- then at top on right after you do this click operations and then scroll down and reset order number to what you want.

BUT if you ave orders you want to keep you will have to choose a number larger then the last order.

Then you can go into order_status_history, orders_total and clean that up as well as the products associated with those orders you deleted.

Thank you MzBeanz !!! I was able to get everything back to normal. I needed to delete a bunch of orders that were processed for testing purposes as well as international orders that did not complete all the way through.

Thanks again !!! Everything worked like a charm. :D
