matpal
So I use Emailbrain.com to send newsletters to my customers because I do not like the OsCommerce newsletter feature. However, I cant seem to figure out how to export all of the email addresses to the email brain server. I guess I need to start off by knowing where the file is located that I nee dto export. Thanks for any insight.
wizardsandwars
Not file, you need the table. You need to extract all of the customers form the customers table where the newsletter option = 1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help. Guest
It isn't in a file. It's in your database. Do you have access to it via some program like phpmyadmin or your host's control panel? If you do, you'll find a wealth of information in there. Try this query when you get there: SELECT customers_email_address FROM customers
Guest
Oh, yeah. Chris is right: SELECT customers_email_address FROM customers WHERE customers_newsletter =

wizardsandwars
your actually got some pretty powerful information there at your disposal. For example, you can create a dynamic newsletter that will put an image and description at the top of the newsletter any prodcuts that the customer left in their cart! Kind of like a reminder of the product they didn't purchase from them. Maybe your could use it in conjunction with a 10% off coupon to entice them back to your store to buy it this time. The more you can personalize the newsletter for your customers, the better your response will be. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. matpal
Ok...so I am trying to update this list again using the same exact method. Only this time when I download the information, it gives me an error message that the connection to the server has been reset. Everytime. Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to get around it? TIA.
