troubleshootter6319
I 'm new to OSCOMMERCE. I have started our store and listed all our products, but i am having trouble with removing the demstration store front, and replacing it with our own. I would be happy just to remove the demo front . any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim
Guest
it explains on the front page what file needs to be edited, the includes/language/english/index.php search, the knowledge base and reading will get you through how to change things
ccoder
I found that using the Admin tool to change this file created a T_STRING error - what ever that is! Worked fine if I altered the file on my computer and then uploaded it!
♥Vger
Yes, the advice on the default homepage is flawed. The osCommerce File Manager uses a php command called stripslashes, and it does just that - both essential and non-essential backslashes are stripped from files as soon as you hit the save button. Download the file to be edited, take a backup (just in case), edit the file in a plain text editor like Notepad, upload again, and if there's a problem restore from the backup you made. Escape all apostrophies in text with a preceeding backslash e.g. Let's = wrong Let\'s = right Vger
